The town of Tréguier is built around an imposing cathedral which spire overhangs the town at over 60 metres. In the Jaudy estuary, the marina is accessible twenty-four hours a day. Tréguier is a picturesque old town which historical and religious past is very strong. Besides the 15th century cloister, you can also admire former monasteries and convents, lovely half-timbered houses and timbered façades dating from the 17th century, including the birthplace of Ernest Renan. The 'Pays de Tréguier' (the area around Tréguier) will allow you to discover many monuments and religious buildings, small chapels (Saint Yves in Minihy-Tréguier, Saint Gonéry in Plougrescant and Notre Dame de Port Blanc…), castles and manors (Keralio, Lezhildry in Plouguiel and the Chaplaincy of Saint Yves in Minihy-Tréguier), to visit exceptional gardens (Keralio in Trédarzec and the Kestellic in Plouguiel) and to go for numerous walks or to go hiking to discover the treasures of the Côte des Ajoncs (the Gorse Coast) while strolling. |

The wild and protected coastline of the 'Côte des Ajoncs', which stretches across 30 kilometres, offers you a wonderful scenery which changes depending on the tides, the light and the weather. It is a series of sand or pebble-beaches, jagged headlands, and islets that are sometimes only accessible at low tide. If you like shore angling and shrimping, the 'Estran' (the foreshore) that gets revealed by the ebbing tide is an ideal area where one can find many animal and vegetal species.
